Summer Workshops

Creative Writing

How can we express our thoughts and emotions effectively in creative writing? How can we write from the perspective of different people and characters? How can we create memorable storylines that are inspired by our own lives, our surroundings, or our imaginations? In this two-week course, we will try our hand at a variety of short fiction and nonfiction creative writing styles. We will write poetry, personal narratives, and short stories. We will also use a workshop model to give feedback on each others’ work. Culminating in a portfolio and publication party, this course will use a variety of source texts and be student-driven.
